TJ's Gym Weekly News 3/6/2020
NOTE ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS AND GYM HYGIENE:
We encourage you to choose the official website of the Centers for Disease Control or the World Health Organization over your Facebook feed for getting accurate and up-to-date information about the reality of your risk and the best measures for prevention. Here is a link explaining best practices for prevention. For the benefit of our TJ’s Gym community, we’d like to highlight the following:
*WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY AND FREQUENTLY AND AVOID HAND-TO-FACE CONTACT.
*STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK. PLEASE DON’T COME TO THE GYM SNEEZING AND COUGHING ALL OVER THE EQUIPMENT AND EVERYONE ELSE.
*USE THE DISINFECTANT WIPES WE HAVE IN THE GYMS TO WIPE DOWN YOUR STUFF AFTER USING IT.
We will continue to practice our regular deep cleaning at all gyms and remind you that staying healthy, fit, and well-rested is always a great first line of defense!

Consistency Over Greatness
I honestly can't remember where I originally heard this quote, but I've used it in a bunch of conversations lately. Data suggests that the key to success is showing up, day in and day out and over a long period of time, in the areas of weight loss, fitness, parenting, business, self-care etc. If you own a company for 40 years and you had some bad months that cumulatively total five years of struggle, 35/5 is not a bad ratio at all.
Another mantra I've been using a lot is Macro over Micro. Unsustainable minutia like linear progression or being undefeated or having the perfect music or workout partner will kill goals. You need to think about the big picture when the little stuff gets to you. Keep showing up and doing the work. The answer will present itself.
That's all I've got this week. Stay healthy. Wash your hands. Get your sleep. Don't get caught up in the stuff that other people are trying to distract you with, and keep the main thing the main thing.
Oh, and REGISTER FOR THE RODEO!
Have a great week.
