Message from TJ

We have certain physiological requirements as we age. Good mobility and flexibility, solid cardio/pulmonary health, keeping body-fat levels at low levels, and being strong. It's our job to make sure we are keeping these systems in good working order.

Throughout our lives, we are sometimes drawn to concentrate on a specific goal, like challenging ourselves to run a 10K or to drop 10 pounds. These are excellent choices and should be pursued with a plan.

But there is one area that needs constant attention in order to support all other systems. We have to be strong, and we have to strive to gain and maintain lean body mass for the rest of our lives.

When we train for strength, we need the "Three Horsemen," as I like to call them:

1.  Mechanical Tension: Time under stress through sets and reps in full ranges of motion that activate specific muscle groups.

2.  Metabolic Stress: The response of the body knowing exactly what muscle group is being activated.  Otherwise known as "the pump."

3.  Muscular “Damage”: The soreness of the specific muscle group in the following 12-48 hours.  Not crippling, but the temporary muscle response to the training.

Sometimes we get hit with speed bumps. Travel for work, a cold, lack of motivation. And sometimes we get dinged up.

The point of my Mobility Seminar is to help you deal with current issues and, in some cases, predict what might be your individual issue down the road, so it doesn’t poke its head up and give you trouble.

I'm not a physical therapist or physician, but I've been taught and trained by them and also have thousands of hours of working with bodies and applying empirical systems to help people get back to training for their goals.

This seminar is free to members and non-members, so feel free to bring anyone you'd like!

To your health,

TJ
