As we deal with the poor air quality around the Bay, we think of those suffering far worse than we are. If you have concerns about exercising in these conditions, please consult your physician and/or use your best judgment. We will remain open and suggest that you take whatever precautions you see fit, including not exercising if that’s what you feel is best for you.

We are pleased to announce that Alex is officially on our schedule now, working around his firefighting schedule and coaching the Sunday morning classes in Mill Valley. Please check out his bio on our Coach page, and give Alex a warm welcome when you attend your first class with him!

It was a long journey back, but he’s been on the other side now for so long that it’s easy to forget the dark days. Let John be your inspiration if you’re fighting back from an injury! Put in the work, keep the faith, and you can be like John!

Read MoreLast month, Hamilton hit his 10-year anniversary at TJ’s Gym. This guys is a true model of how to be in it for your health and wellness for the long haul. Hit him up if you have questions about how he’s kept himself engaged in the process for as long as he has. He might mention that wrangling his badass wife, Jennifer, in the gym was all part of the plan. Congrats, Ham!

Read MoreGlen has been at this thing for quite awhile. True model of consistency and getting the job done, week after week, year after year. Rumor has it that his father-in-law will be joining our new Legends program, making this a three-generation family affair for Glen and his wife, Stephanie, whose daughter, Brynn, is also a TJ's athlete. Very cool!
Read MoreIt's ALMOST Rodeo time! SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd, 2018 at TJ's San Rafael. That's right, the Rodeo is back with a few changes this year, making this a true community event. With the input of your coaches, we (Allison TJ are the ones to whom you can complain if you don't win) will create evenly-matched teams of THREE (one woman, two men) to take part in THREE workouts over the course of 90 minutes. ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME! We will design the workouts so every team member has something to contribute, and every team member has a specific role.
Read MoreThere have been lots of questions about the Make-It-Happen program I'm asking you to join, so here's an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish with this one. We ask you to do hard stuff in here. We want you doing complicated core-to-extremity movements performed at uncomfortable intensities. We want you committing to a lifestyle that will spark your hormonal systems to create long-lasting changes in body fat, bone density, and lean body mass. These changes will give you a massive advantage in the fight against aging and chronic disease.

Read MoreI'm taking the blog in a little different direction this week. The most interesting stories are the ones that happen right here in our own community. Every once in a while, I think it will be cool to drop in a quick video about someone in our program whom you all might find as motivating as I do.
