Happy International Women's Day! Today we celebrate all of the badass, strong, and beautiful women of TJ's Gym and around the world!

Message from TJ:

The feedback on last week's blog has been great...and there have been some worried looks.
"Three months? Bro, you've got to be kidding me."
"Um, I don't think that's possible."
"I'm scared to try."
I love this kind of feedback. Anything that creates action is beneficial. If there is no emotional reaction, then most likely it's not uncomfortable enough to cause change.
Let me use myself as the example here. I want to clean up my act. I also feel that it is time to work the discipline muscle. It's something I've written about in the past. It's a mental muscle that should be flexed periodically to make sure that you've still "got it."  By getting it, I mean control.  You still have control over yourself.
It starts with committing to something and then figuring out the plan and being held accountable for some sort of motivation thrown in.  Coach, goal, plan.
I've found that choosing one thing per week has worked.  If you just say I want to "clean up," that could include a slew of things.  Instead, we need to be specific. For me, this week it's chips. Corn chips specifically.  I don't love them, but they are there in the pantry.  All. The. Time. It's not my family's problem that I am cleaning up. It's on me. So, no chips.  Last week it was something else, and next week it will be something else again ,but it will always build on the previous week. Drinking a gallon of water each day, getting a half hour of sunshine, stretching every day, eating clean every day, getting in five solid workouts in the week, and quitting booze altogether usually won't work if you pile it all into a single week's expectations list.
Think long-term and keep adding.  June 1st will be awesome.  I promise.
