"I'm a Little Scared."

This week’s newsletter can be found HERE.

“I’m a little scared.”

That’s what my new client said to me when they walked into their second workout.

Our first session was all about positioning, fitness concepts, and what my role would be in their journey.

When they came to their second workout, they felt a little more comfortable with me, and raising the fear factor was the first thing they did.

This person is fit, strong, confident, and successful in all of the ways.

They aren’t overweight, out of shape, or a non-workout person.

Yet, that’s the way they felt.

I did a quick scan of the room before I responded.

I saw hard metal racks, huge black bumper plates, scuffed kettlebells, and literally tons of dumbbells.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.” is what I said, smiling knowingly.

But in my head I said something else.

“Shoot.”

Here’s what I’ve figured out.

The best thing I could do for this community is provide them with high-quality people.

High-quality people bring a natural curiosity of other humans, a lack of ego, and a wit to their interpersonal interactions.

They have quirks like everyone else, but their eye contact, power of voice, and confident approach lets everyone know that they WANT to be there; they don’t HAVE to be there.

I like to think that is what I bring to my coaching.

It’s what I want all of our coaches to bring.

I said “shoot” in my head because there isn’t anything I can or that I’m willing to change regarding our facilities.

Sure, we will be getting a paint job and the equipment will continue to get upgraded and organized, but the tools we use are chosen for a reason.

They serve the purpose of moving people from A to B in the shortest, straightest line possible.

But, there is something I can do.

I can provide the best guides possible for when someone is feeling unsure about the program.

I can provide people who simply want to help.

That is my number-one goal right now.

So here is what I’m asking you.

Do you know this high-quality person? Are YOU this high-quality person?

Are you or they interested in helping people?

Would you/they get fulfillment out of changing people’s lives?

Do you/they have 3-10 hours per week available in your/their schedule?

I’m not necessarily looking for a full-time coach.

I’m not looking for someone with experience.

Reach out to me, so we can discuss this more.

You know me, I love to talk.

Thanks,

TJ
