Community Outreach
Part of our mission at TJ's Gym is to give back to the larger communities in which our gyms our housed.
We are especially committed to local school districts and high school sports programs. Here are some
examples of how we are reaching out/have reached out to help our community:
*Since 2009, we have donated 100% of our profits from initial memberships purchased by Corte Madera/Larkspur
district families directly to SPARK, the school's foundation. For 2011, we are committed to donating at least $1500
and hope to reach a far higher amount by year’s end.
*During the 2011-12 school year, we will donate 100% of our profits from initial memberships purchased by Ross
Valley district families directly to YES, the school's foundation. We are committed to donating at least $1000 and
hope to reach a far higher number by year’s end.
*During the 2011-12 school year, we will donate 100% of of our profits from initial memberships purchased by Dixie
School district families directly to Can-Do!, the school's foundation. We are committed to donating at least $1000
and hope to reach a far higher number by year’s end.
*We conduct PRO-BONO Physical Education Classes at Neil Cummins School and also offer PRO-BONO fitness
discussions and mini-sessions in local school classrooms.
*We frequently run workout fundraisers for various causes and are available for suggestions from community
members. Our largest fundraiser this year will be our Disposable Heroes Project Fundraiser on December 10th,
2011. We hope to raise $15,000 to donate to this organization, which helps wounded warriors and families of fallen
soldiers.
*We raised over $6000 for breast cancer research at our 2010 Burpees for Breast Cancer event.
*We served as the Strength and Conditioning coaches for the Novato High School Football Team PRO BONO during
their 2009 season.
*We raised over $5000 for a local Novato boy battling cancer during our Grand Opening in Corte Madera in June,
2008.
